Keeping Track: Russell Jr. vs. Nyambayar

World Boxing Council featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr. (30-1, 18 KOs) will defend his crown against undefeated Mongolian fighter Tugstsogt “King Tug” Nyambayar, this  Saturday, live on SHOWTIME at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania leading a Premier Boxing Champions event.

Russell will make the fifth defense of his WBC featherweight title against his mandatory challenger, Tugstsogt Nyambayar (11-0, 9 KOs), seeking to prove he is still the best on the division.

Nyambayar, a 2012 Olympic silver medalist, has quicly escalated the WBC rankings,  becoming mandatory challenger.

As part of the WBC safety regulations, both fighters have successfully submitted their respective pre-weigh ins plus medical tests and MRI.
