One of the main priorities of the World Boxing Council for 2019, is the implementation of the new Weight Management Program, which aims to protect the health of fighters.
Rules of the WBC Weight Management Program:
For the previous weigh in of 30 days, the boxers must not weigh more than 10% of the limit of their division. For 14 days they must not exceed more than 5% and in the 7 day weigh in they must not weigh more than the 3% above the limit.
* The fighters must be weighed in the dressing room of the arena where the fight will take place. It must be done to monitor that the established percentage is not exceeded, to protect the health and well being of the boxers.
In this way, both fighters only have to complete the new WBC weigh in on the day of the fight, to verify that neither of them exceed 10% of what they weighed at the official weigh in , to fully comply with the new WBC weight management program.
