2021 is drawing to a close, however there`s still time to enjoy one more fight for the WBC world title as this Friday, from Canada, when we`ll witness a battle magnifique in the 175 pounds division.
Artur Beterbiev who has an immaculate record of 16 wins with 16 KOs will defend his WBC and IBF belts, against southpaw challenger Marcus Browne, who has an impressive record of 24 wins with 16 KOs and only 1 loss.
We are only two days away from witnessing this encounter. However, before stepping into the ring of the Bell Center in Montreal, the protagonists presented a series of requirements that the WBC has implemented for years with the intention of protecting fighters, including: blood tests, MRI, eye exams , physical tests and pre-weigh in.
The World Boxing Council recognizes the professionalism of both fighters and their respective teams as they have complied with all the medical requirements, examinations and safety protocols that are required.
We admire the commitment of world champion Artur Beterbiev and challenger Marcus Browne to fulfil these requirements. We wish them the best of luck in their fight, which will undoubtedly be a great contest to conclude a magnificently memorable 2021.
