The WBC has held a purse bid for the mandatory strawweight bout between champion Panya Pradabsri, from Thailand and interim champion Yudai Shigeoka from Japan.
Kameda Promotions, represented by Mr. Shinji Fukamachi, obtained the rights to promote the bout with the amount of $213,000 USD, outbid by Petchyindee Boxing Promotions, represented by Mr. Piyarat Vachirarattatanawong, with $170,000 USD.
Pradabsri is coming off a successful defense of his title in June by defeating Japanese challenger Norihito Tanaka by technical knockout in the eighth round in Rayong, Thailand.
Shigeoka won the interim title last April by knocking out former Puerto Rican champion Wilfredo “Bimbito” Méndez in the seventh round, in Tokyo, Japan.
10% of the total bid will be reserved to be paid as a bonus to the winner.
