With a considerable investment and plenty of enthusiasm, the José Sulaimán Chagnón Boxing Gym was inaugurated, created by the Autonomous University of Sinaloa.
It was at the Rubén Jaramillo High School facilities where this event was held, where this new venue is located, which seeks to create new boxing talents in the port.
The Rector of the UAS, Juan Eulogio Guerra Liera, along with the President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaimán Saldívar, as well as Alfonso Lizárraga, of the Banda El Recodo, were present at the venue.
The opening ceremony began with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque with the name of José Sulaimán Chagnón. The traditional cutting of the ribbon was done by Guerra Liera, Sulaimán Saldívar and Lizárraga.
During the event, they took a tour of the premises to officially see its facilities, both in terms of structure and equipment. An agreement was signed between the Autonomous University of Sinaloa with the World Boxing Council, to work together for the development of young boxers.
As part of this inaugural event, the Mazatlan boxers Pedro Guevara and Bruno were in charge of staging an exhibition match in one of the three rings that make up this venue.
