
Jordan’s Ambassador to Mexico His Excellency Aldi Qasem Muhammad Alkhaledi was a Guest of Honour at the World Boxing Council’s Martes a Cafe, which this week was in Delegacion Magdalena Contreras.
A key and crucial part of the event focused on the initiative of President Claudia Sheinbaum and the WBC program of Boxeando Por La Paz.
It helps five thousand young promising boxers Nationwide and more than one hundred thousand youngsters are already taking boxing classes. It is unique globally.
The Ambassador praised this singular initiative and said this helps young people through the constructive engagement of competitive sports.
Jordan is currently holding a training seminar for international amateur boxing and the Ambassador hopes this will provide the grass roots for a flourishing of boxing and the hope is for Jordan to crown its very own professional world boxing champion in the coming years.
He also said: “I believe that in the Middle East we should follow the Olympic path. And with investment in boxing of companies so that boxers can participate in different training camps and championships. How to sponsor and support these athletes, enabling them to engage and participate on the international level.”
Jordan is doing its bit by sponsoring and holding an international boxing training seminar from February 10-28 February. With more sponsorship Jordan hopes and plans to hold more events for athletics from all over the world.
The Ambassador says the hope and strategy is to have an Arabic world champion within twenty years.
