Three-division champion Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) will face Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) at super welterweight in the main event next Saturday at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
The fight is organized by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh of Riyadh Season Card, with the support of several major promoters, and will be broadcast on DAZN.
Renowned trainer Joel Diaz, who works with Israil Madrimov at his gym in Indio, California, commented in an interview with ProBox TV, some aspects of this important fight:
“It’s a very difficult task. Terence Crawford is the best pound-for-pound fighter and he’s very complete. It’s an honor to work on a plan to beat him. We have a good strategy with a good fighter.
“You don’t know what to expect from Crawford, and Madrimov is the same. They both dominate their stances from both sides, so we’ve had good southpaws, righties, fast fighters, so we’re ready. We have Plan A, B and C ready against Terence Crawford.
“Madrimov is an accomplished amateur with more than 300 fights. He’s been 100 percent disciplined… he makes his opponents uncomfortable and it’s not going to be easy for Crawford”.
