
Boxing in Taiwan celebrated a memorable day as local prospect Jhung Ciou captured the OPBF (Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation) Strawweight Silver title, defeating Japan’s Ryuga Hattori by unanimous decision.
The event, organized by the promotional team PRO BOXING TEAM TAOYUAN in the city of Taichung, Taiwan, represented a firm step forward in the expansion of professional boxing within the region. Before a dedicated audience, Ciou demonstrated technical superiority and great physical conditioning to dominate the scheduled rounds.
The bout was supervised by high-level officials, with referee Takeru Okaniwa directing the action in the ring. At the end of the contest, judges Eddie Lang, Saemi Okaniwa, and Koji Tanaka submitted scores of 79-73, 78-74, and 77-73, all in favor of the Taiwanese fighter.
With this result, Jhung Ciou not only claims the Silver belt but also secures a significant position within the regional rankings, seeking a shot at the division’s absolute title in the near future.
