Jessica González is confident of victory

In interim champion Jessica ‘Magnifica’ González’s camp there is confidence in returning home as the only World Boxing Council bantamweight champion, when she fights next Friday, June 17 in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico; her where she will face the absolute champion, the local Yuliahn ‘Cobrita’ Luna.

The card is a production of Promociones del Pueblo, in association with Cancún Boxing, Boxing Time and BXSTRS Promotions; and will be broadcast on ESPN.

The champion from Álvaro Obregón in Mexico City assured that she knows the formula to beat Luna, since they already had a confrontation 8 years ago, and González won by points; “I’ve already beaten her once and now I’m going to do it in front of her people, we’ve both improved since then, but I’m going to beat her again and I’ll be the only champion.”

“In these years we have learned a lot and improved, she won two world championships and I have faced the best in the world in the division; and in my mind a defeat against a rival I have already defeated does not cross,” she said.

The international contest, she will have in the co-main event the undefeated knockout David ‘General’ Cuéllar facing the tough Nicaraguan Yader ‘Chocolate’ Cardoza..
