The World Boxing Council has confirmed the attendance of Jelena Mrdjenovich—one of the most important figures in modern women’s boxing—at its 2025 Annual Convention, which will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 30 to December 5.
Her presence adds historical significance to the event, as she is a fighter who left a lasting mark over more than two decades, collecting world titles and starring in memorable bouts.
A standout in the featherweight and super featherweight divisions, Mrdjenovich built a career defined by resilience, adaptability, and remarkable longevity. She became a WBC world champion in both featherweight and super featherweight, defended her titles with authority, and remained among the elite even during periods when women’s boxing struggled for visibility. Her career continues to inspire younger generations who see her as a model of consistency and professionalism.
The 2025 edition of the Convention will offer a week of meetings, cultural exchanges, and celebrations in Thailand’s capital. Bangkok will serve as a gathering point for champions, trainers, and officials from around the world, in an environment where local culture, sport, and history intersect. This year, the program will also formally integrate WBC Muaythai, strengthening the bridge between global boxing and Thailand’s most iconic combat art.
During the event, Mrdjenovich will take part in special activities and interactions with fans and members of the boxing community. Her experience as a long-reigning champion provides valuable insight for discussion panels, roundtables, and recognition ceremonies scheduled throughout the week.
The venue will be the Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, one of the city’s premier hotel complexes, which will host meetings, exhibitions, and the traditional WBC gala featuring many of the sport’s most influential figures.
