It promises to be a truly memorable evening, the Night of Champions Dinner and Gala Auction, including the greatest idol in the history of Australian Boxing, Jeff Fenech. This great event will take place on May 3rd.
The boxing superstar in three different divisions, namely bantamweight, super bantam and featherweight. He was born on May 28, 1964 in Marrickville, Sydney, Australia.
From a young age, Jeff fell in love with the sport of gloves and determined to become world champion.
He started as amateur, improving day by day.
He represented his country at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. That same year he made his professional debut beating Bobby Williams via knockout in two rounds.
Jeff starred in 14 title battles, and broke several records in his homeland. He fought professionally from 1984 to 1996.
Fenech’s record 29 wins with 21 KO´s, 1 draw and 3 defeats, after his retirement, the Australian fighter has been dedicated in recent years, successfully, both training fighters and to represent them
His career serves as example to all Australian youth.
Throughout his career Jeff Fenech faced fabulous rivals: Carlos Zarate, Azumah Nelson, Wayne Mulholland, Junior Thompson and Rolando Navarro, to name a few.
One of the most memorable nights in the boxer’s career, was in 1987 when he competed for the world super bantamweight title against Samart Payakaroon in his native Australia.
With the audience completely devoted to his boxer, Jeff was crowned the division’s champion sending his rival to the canvas in the fourth round.
The last time that Fench fought was on June 24, 2008 winning by majority decision against Azumah Nelson.
