On Saturday June 28, a highly anticipated fight took place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Paul dominated most of the fight. During the first eight rounds, the American
remained active, setting the pace and landing some punches on Chávez Jr., who appeared listless and disconnected for long stretches of the fight.
However, in the last two rounds, the Mexican awoke and went for broke. He threw more punches and at times put Paul in trouble with some good shots, although it was too little too late to reverse the outcome of the scorecards.
The Judges were clear: 98-92, 97-93, and 99-91, all in favor of Jake Paul, who thus bolts on the most important victory of his career against a former WBC middleweight champion.
