Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz receives the Aztec Warrior Belt

During the traditional Martes de Café gathering, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz was presented with the “Aztec Warrior” belt, in recognition of his memorable bout against Omar Salcido. A video showcasing the highlights of his career was also presented during the event.

Isaac expressed his gratitude to the WBC and to those in attendance:

“Thank you very much for the invitation and for this recognition. The Aztec Warrior belt was created with a purpose — to be contested among Mexican fighters. Thanks to all the people who believe in us.”

Meanwhile, Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the WBC, recalled the origins of this distinction:

“When Israel Vázquez, who starred in four incredible fights with Rafael Márquez, passed away, he left us with great inspiration to make the Aztec Warrior belt a reality. The one who began this process is Pitbull Cruz, and it is an honor for me to present this belt to you, because you have earned it with your heart and have raised Mexico’s name to the top.”
