Mexican fighter Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and American Lamont Roach met this Wednesday at a press conference to promote their upcoming fight on December 6 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, where they will face off in a super lightweight bout.
“Pitbull” Cruz, who will seek to capture a new world title and reaffirm his status as one of Mexico’s most explosive boxing stars, expressed confidence at the press event:
“Fans can expect to see the rise of a new Mexican superstar, and Isaac Cruz taking that WBC belt home,” said the capital-born fighter. “Words mean nothing; I’ll speak in the ring.”
Training under the supervision of his father, Isaac Cruz Sr., Cruz stated that he is in the best shape of his career for this fight:
“I’m preparing to be the best version of ‘Pitbull’ Cruz. I want to give fans the show they deserve. I know I can knock him out; he’s human, and punches hurt everyone equally.”
For his part, Lamont Roach, the current super featherweight world champion, said he aims to prove his worth against a popular opponent:
“Taking this fight shows I’m old school. Cruz is explosive, but I’m ready for everything. If he can’t handle what I bring, it will be a very long night for him,” said the American.
Roach highlighted that moving up in weight is a natural evolution in his career and a chance to showcase himself on a major stage:
“I’m in my best physical and mental shape. Moving up in weight is one more step for me. This fight will show what I’m made of.”
Both Cruz and Roach concluded the press conference with firm statements and mutual respect, promising an intense clash between contrasting styles: the Mexican’s pressure and power against the American’s technique and precision.
The December 6 fight in San Antonio will mark “Pitbull” Cruz’s return to the ring, aiming to further build his legacy as one of today’s most charismatic and fierce boxing figures.
