Isaac Dogboe wins WBC eliminatory bout

Ghanaian Isaac Dogboe defeated Joet González in an entertaining fight that the judges ruled with a split decision.

Dogboe did not have an easy night, because at least half of the fight he struggled with the combative style of Joet González, who was also looking for a victory to be able to relaunch his career and put himself in a position to compete for a world championship.

However, Isaac for the closing of the contest, managed to find the necessary rhythm to take the cards by scores of 96-94 and 96-94, while a third judge gave the victory to the Californian by 96-94.
Since his loss to Emanuel Navarrete, Dogboe has won victories over Chris Avalos, Adam Lopez, and Christopher Diaz, but this win was special as it was a WBC sanctioned elimination match.
