
Naoya Inoue already has his next opponent set for the defense of his undisputed championship. In a press conference organized by Ohashi Promotions, it was officially announced that “Monster” will muster against Murodjon “MJ” Akhmadaliev.
The bout will take place at the IG Arena in Nagoya, Japan, on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
This will be the second time this year that Naoya Inoue fights the day after Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, promising a weekend packed with high-quality boxing. “Canelo” will face Terence Crawford.
Inoue described Akhmadaliev as the toughest opponent he has faced in his career.
Naoya “Monster” Inoue has an undefeated record of 30 wins, 27 by knockout.
Murodjon “MJ” Akhmadaliev holds a record of 14-1 with 11 KOs. Four of his last five wins have come by stoppage.
