
Undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue and former champion Junto Nakatani have completed their 14-day pre-weigh-in with the ease of professionalism.
Naoya Inoue will defend his undisputed super bantamweight championship against Junto Nakatani on May 2 at the Tokyo Dome in one of the most anticipated fights among boxing fans.
Inoue became a world champion for the first time in 2014 when he knocked out Adrian Hernandez in the sixth round to win the WBC light flyweight title.
A few years and titles later, in 2022, Inoue claimed his first undisputed championship, at bantamweight.
After achieving this and seeking new challenges, he moved up to the super bantamweight division, which he quickly dominated. In 2023, he became the undisputed champion at 122 pounds.
Junto Nakatani was flyweight world champion in 2020 and super flyweight world champion in 2023.
In February 2024, he knocked out Alexandro Santiago in six rounds to win the WBC bantamweight world title, which he defended four times before moving up in weight to face Inoue.
The WBC recognizes the professionalism of both fighters, who completed their 14-day pre-weigh-in, demonstrating that they are in excellent condition for this important bout.
