The Annual Congress of the Federation of Boxing Commissions of the Mexican Republic (FECOMBOX) brought together 300 participants in Aguascalientes, who are committed to unifying standards, certification, and maximum protection for everyone who steps into the ring.
Inspired by the leadership of Juan Carlos Pelayo, President of FECOMBOX, collaboration was strengthened with WBC University and its Director, Xóchitl Lagarda, with presentations that stood out in interest and quality. Representatives from all 32 states of the country and from countries such as Italy, Guatemala, Peru, the United States, Venezuela, Colombia, Honduras, and Argentina also attended.

Boxing, being the only sport regulated by governmental entities, requires strict oversight in every fight, from the issuance of licenses and permits to medical supervision, the appointment of judges and referees, and the validation of official results. Training and uniformity in the rules are crucial to guaranteeing safety and transparency.
During the Convention, practical topics such as care for knocked-out fighters, bandages, facial trauma, resuscitation, scoring criteria, and new technologies applied to the sport were addressed. The crusade launched against clandestine and dangerous events that promote violence and risk the integrity of participants was also highlighted.

In an act that reflects the institutional commitment, Pelayo met with María Teresa Jiménez Esquivel, the governor of Aguascalientes, who showed great support for sports and physical activity in her state, exploring the creation of a state commission.
The fight card promoted by Gerry Saldívar with BXSTRS, broadcast in 27 countries through ESPN Knockout, was another highlight of the congress.
FECOMBOX thus reaffirms its commitment to the professionalization and safety of Mexican boxing, calling for the reporting and cooperation to eradicate illegal practices that harm the sport and society.
