On the 26th of November in Shangri-La hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka the first ever professional boxing show took place.
DJMC events promoter Mr. Dunstan Rozairo together with matchmaker Roshan Nathaniel organized the show on this beautiful island in the Indian ocean. A great pride that the World Boxing Council became the first professional boxing body to present its professional championships there.
The event was sanctioned by the Indian Boxing Council. Thanks to the professionalism of its Leader – Brigadier Raja the country where still no professional sanctioning body exists, everything went very smoothly.
At the co-main event there was a defense of the WBC Asia Continental lightweight title by Sachin Dekwal who couldn’t make it and lost in the round 7 by KO. The new champion Jules Victoriano from Philippines. The main event of the evening female professional boxing fight with two vacant titles on stake – WBC Interantional and WBC Asia Silver super bantamweigth. Urvachi Singh from India defeated Thanchanok Phanan from Thailand in a 10 round fight by UD.
The latest edition of the famous green and gold WBC belt encapsulates the image of our great and forever remembered President Jose Sulaiman, The King of Boxing Muhammad Ali and Floyd Mayweather as an homage to their illustrious career plus the pictures of the 2 Greatest WBC´s champions per division, who were of course chosen by boxing fans.
