in a World Boxing Council Interim Lightweight title bout.
Mayer (17-1, 5 KOs), a 2016 United States Olympian, signed with Top Rank in 2017 and captured the WBO super featherweight belt by defeating Ewa Brodnicka via unanimous decision in October 2020. The following year, the Los Angeles fighter unified the WBO and IBF titles in an exciting give-and-take fight against Maiva Hamadouche. The 34-year-old remained undefeated before losing to Delfine Persoon in a WBC lightweight world title fight in 2016. Linardatou returned with four wins in a row, including one against Baumgardner and another against Kandi Wyatt to capture the vacant spot. WBO super lightweight belt. Linardatou lost her 140-pound belt to Katie Taylor in 2019 but regained that title with a unanimous decision victory over Prisca Vicot in February 2020.
