WBC Super featherweight champion Terri Harper (11-0-1, 6 KOs), was scheduled to face the WBA champion Hyun-Mi Choi (18-0-1, 4 KOs), the next Saturday, May 15, at the AO Arena, Manchester, England.
Unfortunately, Harper suffered a training injury that will prevent her from getting into the ring.
Harper was sensational when she knocked out Norway’s Katharina Thanderz in nine rounds to retain her WBC last November at the SSE Arena, Wembley.
Prior to that, Terri fought an exciting draw with Natasha Jonas at Matchroom Fight Camp in August retaining her world title.
Choi became a world champion by defeating Siriwan Thongmanit, in May 2014, making several successful defenses.
“I am absolutely devastated to announce that in my last spar of camp I have damaged my hand again. Myself and my team have worked so hard over the last 5 months to ensure I had the best recovery and had a full training camp without problems with my hand.
“Thank you to all involved in this bout for the opportunity and sorry for let you down. An ever a bigger sorry to Hyun Mi Choi and her team. Hopefully, this fight will happen before the end of the year,” Harper commented and promised on her social media.
