The boxing world unites to celebrate the life and career of one of the most intelligent, durable and dominant warriors to ever step into the ring: world champion and legend Bernard Hopkins.
Initially known as “The Executioner” and later as “The Alien,” Hopkins did more than just forge a Hall of Fame career; he redefined the limits of human longevity in high-impact sports.
Hopkins maintained a historic relationship with the WBC Green and Gold belt. On May 21, 2011, at the age of 46 years and 126 days, Hopkins defeated Jean Pascal to capture the WBC Light Heavyweight World Title, breaking the record held by George Foreman as the oldest world champion in boxing history.
Today, the WBC honors a man who rose from the hardships of his youth to become a mentor, promoter, and inspiration.
