The WBC’s number one middleweight contender, Hamzah Sheeraz, says he is physically and mentally prepared for his February 22 fight against the organization’s middleweight champion Carlos Adames, which will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The undefeated Englishman has a record of 21-0 (17 KOs) and has had an impressive 2024 with wins over Liam Williams, Ammo Williams and Tyler Denny. Adames has a record of 24-1 (18 KOs) and defeated Terrell Gausha in his only fight last year.
“This is the opportunity. If I’m not ready now, I don’t think I will ever be,” said Sheeraz. “Since I was eight years old, being that little boy, who wanted to win that wondrous Green and Gold Belt, on February 22. It’s a tall order, I have no illusions about who I have in front of me, but I think I possess everything to win; And on February 22, we will have a new Green and Gold WBC middleweight world champion. I always said that once I get the opportunities, once I get the platforms…then I will deliver.”
