Gym Jab Hosts the WBC’s Traditional “Martes de Café”
The Jab gym, located in the Coyoacán district of Mexico City, opened its doors to host another edition of the World Boxing Council’s (WBC) traditional Martes de Café.
The event featured high-caliber guests, including champion Gabriela “Bonita” Sánchez, Jacky Calvo, former champion Carlos Cuadras, social ambassador Josejas, and former monarch Francisco “Bandido” Vargas, among other notable figures who gathered to share with the boxing family.
Ricardo Cabañas, Director of The Jab, formally welcomed the attendees with warm words: “I deeply thankful the WBC and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, for giving us the opportunity to host this at our gym. It is a true honor to spend time with great champions and prominent boxing figures, as well as the entire press core joining us today.”
Mauricio Sulaimán expressed his gratitude and good wishes for the project: “Thanks to Ricardo and the entire team at The Jab. We wish them the greatest success in this new branch, which will undoubtedly be an important space for professional development.”
To conclude, Cabañas highlighted the venue’s identity and vision: “The Jab is not simply a brand; it is an emblem of excellence, because with the boxers who have been with us, we have been able to highlight their full potential. Boxing begins in a gym, and what we seek is to provide a mutual collaboration with our boxers. I am a person in love with Mexican boxing, and we hope to continue being a benchmark in this sport.”
