British fighter Sandy “Medieval” Ryan (5-1, 2 KO’s) defeated Argentine Anahi Ester Sanchez (21-6, 13 KO’s), in what was her third fight of the year, defending her World Boxing Council International super lightweight title for the first time, at Wembley Arena.
The first half of the fight was efficiently controlled by Ryan. She accomplished this by using her much lighter feet to keep circling the ring, attacking, and then evading.
However, in the seventh round, Sánchez regained ground, landing heavy combinations on the champion. Ryan rallied and regained control of the bout in the eighth and ninth.
Sandy was able to dominate the tenth and gritty final round to claim a unanimous decision victory with the following scores from the judges: Reece Carter 100-92, Anssi Parajoki 98-92 and Jurgen Langos 99-91.
The fight supervisor was WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi.
