The schedule of World Boxing Council title fights has been gathering momentum and marching on apace, in the fifth month of the year, extolling and proving quality and vigor. Here is the hitlist, which has proved such a popular hit:
May 30

As part of the campaigns developed by WBC Cares, talks in schools about bullying prevention. The purpose of these sessions is to raise awareness in students about this social problem.
May 28
The interim WBC champion in the super flyweight division, Pedro Guevara, received the coveted Green and Gold Belt from President Mauricio Sulaimán.
The historic champion Ana María Torres received a great tribute from the World Boxing Council, where she was recognized for her pending inclusion in the Canastota Hall of Fame and for her outstanding professional career. What a fighter!

The social and sports program “Boxeo sin Cadenas” completed eleven years working in Argentine prisons with the support of the WBC.

Dina Thorslund successfully defended her WBC and WBO bantamweight belts with a unanimous decision victory over Seren Cetin in Denmark.
May 24
British Lawrence Okolie won the World Boxing Council bridgerweight title at the Podpromie Arena in Rzeszow, Poland, by knocking out local fighter and former world champion Lukasz Rozanski in the first round.

In Germany, the 75th Anniversary of the BDB (Association of German Professional Boxers) was celebrated, with the participation of the WBC.

More than 70 years since his last fight and more than 40 years since he died in southern Nevada, Joe Louis was remembered in Las Vegas, by family and fans who adored him for his magnificent efforts, skills and punching power in the ring and his dedicated work in the movement for the civil rights.

Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) defeated Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) by split decision, in a dramatic, spectacular and intense battle, to capture the Undisputed Full Weight Championship at the Kingdom Arena, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Pedro Guevara won the interim WBC super flyweight title in Perth Australia, defeating local fighter Andrew Moloney.

WBC Cares Africa, through the leader in Uganda, Maureen Mulangiraha, delivered boxing gloves and equipment to young people and children in marginal areas of the region.

The unified super bantamweight champion, Japanese Naoya Inoue retained his world titles, in addition to winning the prestigious WBC Diamond belt, by knocking out the Mexican Luis Nery in the sixth round at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

The Unified Super Middleweight World Champion, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, successfully defended his titles and took home the beautiful TAMAULIPAS belt, by defeating former world champion Jaime Munguía by unanimous decision, in the main event of a card of the Mexican celebration of the Cinco de Mayo, which took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Interim Welterweight Champion of the World Boxing Council, Texan Mario “Azteca” Barrios, successfully defended his title by winning by unanimous decision against Fabián “TNT” Maidana, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Interim Featherweight Champion of the World Boxing Council, Brandon Figueroa, defended his title by knocking out former world champion Jessie Magdaleno with an accurate hook to the liver, this Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

At the Singmanassak Muaythai School, Pathum Thani, Thailand, Japanese Umi Ishikawa (12-3, 10 kos) won the interim straw title of the World Boxing Council, by knocking out Thai Sothita Sitthichai (10-4, 3 kos).
