
Angel Napoles, who`s the grandson of ring legend Jose “Mantequilla” Napoles, has been presented with the WBC Youth Intercontinental Lightweight Belt, which he won by TKO in the third round.
On June 20th, the handsome 21 year old, stopped Jorge Alberto Romero Ayala, in a contest for this then vacant belt, at the Escena Show Center in Monterrey. Young Angel`s record is now 6-0-2, with four KO`s.
He said: “My Grandpa has inspired me with the many wins of his tremendous career, and he`s very happy I have won my first WBC belt. My ambition is to be the unified lightweight champion. Boxing is in my veins! My principal motivation is to be successful in my career for my Daughter Ana Victoria.
The Green and Gold Belt presentation by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman was a real Napoles Family event. Angel was accompanied by Wife Salma Camacho, their baby Daughter Ana Victoria, his Mum Ana Maria, his Dad Sergio, Aunt Caridad, Uncle Jose and his Sister Jessica.
Grandpa`s health is significantly improving and he sends his greetings.
All time Great Jose “Mantiquilla” Napoles, was welterweight champion of the World twice and is the pride of the World Boxing Council. He is also a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame. His fabulous record is 88 fights, 81 wins including 54 KO`s and just seven defeats.
