The WBC and the Secretary of Citizen Security of Mexico announced the Second José Sulaimán Chagnón Boxing Tournament.

Former champion Tony Harrison, was recognized for his great social work. In his gym he is in charge of training young people in exchange for maintaining good grades in school. His gym also serves as a shelter and haven for children, guiding them away from the streets. Youngsters are not the only people Tony has helped, as he has sponsored food collection campaigns for families in his community. For his kindness, dedication and service to his community.

July 27
Claressa Shields made history by being crowned WBC heavyweight champion, after knocking out former champion Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse, at the beginning of the second round, at the Little Caesar Arena in Michigan.

A great card was held in Tlaxcala, Mexico, Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt defeated Colombian Jeremy Triana. Israel “Azulito” Ramírez successfully defended his NABF super bantamweight title for the first time, knocking out Venezuelan Edixon Pérez. Marilyn Badillo retained her WBC international flyweight title.

July 26
WBC Cares Mexico and Boys and Girls Club Present Successful Summer Course.

With the attendance of girls and boys from some invited schools in Tlaxcala, former champion Jackie Nava gave a memorable motivational talk.

With the Secretariat of Welfare as its headquarters, teacher María Estela Álvarez Corona, head of the secretariat, welcomed DEA Agent Rocky Herron, who made those present reflect on the harsh reality and terrible consequences of drug abuse and the detrimental effects it can have not only on the consumer but on the people around them.

With a powerful left straight to the body, champion Junto Nakatani successfully defended his World Boxing Council bantamweight crown for the first time, stopping the Filipino challenger Vincent Astrolabio in the first round.

Chantelle Cameron won the World Boxing Council interim super lightweight title by defeating Elhem Mekhaled by majority decision at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

July 19
On a historic night that marked the return of elite boxing to the iconic Poliedro de Caracas, Venezuelan Carlos “Triple C” Cañizales was proclaimed the WBC Silver Light Flyweight Champion winning a close fight against the brave Mexican Ivan Garcia.

A seminar for ring officials held by the World Boxing Council in Caracas, Venezuela, was a great success, with the support of Juan Carlos Pelayo, Hector Afú, Nicolas Hidalgo and the Venezuelan Boxing Commission.

Sulaiman Segawa defeated Ruben Villa by unanimous decision at the Pearl Theatre of The Palms Resort Casino, winning the WBC Silver Featherweight Title

The WBC Featherweight Champion, Australian Skye Nicolson, successfully defended her title by defeating Dominican challenger Dyana Vargas by unanimous decision.

The President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaimán, presented a Green and Gold Belt to the Ministry of National Defense, in recognition of its tremendous contribution to sports and physical culture.

The Lennox Lewis Foundation’s annual free youth training camp held in Jamaica was a marvelous success.

WBC Cares Mexico, led by Christiane Manzur, signed an alliance with Boys & Girls Club CDMX/EDO MEX, which will allow both organizations to strengthen efforts to promote benefits to various vulnerable groups in the metropolitan area.

Brazilian Robson Conceicao became the new super featherweight champion of the World Boxing Council, by defeating former champion O’Shaquie Foster via split decision.

At the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, American Ricardo Sandoval won by technical knockout in the tenth round against Puerto Rican Ángel “Tito” Acosta.

American Shakur Stevenson retained his WBC lightweight title by defeating Artem Harutyunyan by unanimous decision.
