North American Ryan García (20-0, 17 ko’s), will face former world challenger, Luke Campbell (20-3, 16 ko’s), for the World Boxing Council Lightweight Interim World Championship.
The fight was scheduled to take place on December 5 but had to be postponed. Now the fight will take place on January 2 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Ryan Garcia, the WBC Silver Lightweight Champion, is a 22-year-old contender who has quickly become one of boxing’s most popular young athletes. Since he joined Golden Boy in 2016, he has shown that he has a great future. Since he joined forces with renowned coach Eddy Reynoso, the Victorville, the young Californian has improved his technical skills and scored important knockout victories.
Luke is highly motivated for this important duel, as he has commented on several occasions that one of his goals in the sport is to win the WBC Green and Gold Belt.
