The atmosphere in the Japanese capital reached its boiling point during the official press conference prior to the highly anticipated clash between the legendary Mexican Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada and local idol Tenshin Nasukawa.
Both warriors were present and correct at a press conference marked by professionalism, discipline, and deep mutual respect, though with the firm promise of taking the victory this Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the emblematic Ryogoku Kokugikan.
The ceremony featured the stellar presence of Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the World Boxing Council (WBC), who gave a definitive institutional weight to the contest.
Sulaimán confirmed to the international media that this fight is an eliminator, which guarantees that the winner will become the challenger for the current monarch of the 118-pound division, the Japanese Takuma Inoue.
“This is a fight that the world wants to see. We have a proven legend like Estrada against a rising phenomenon like Nasukawa. The green and gold belt awaits the best of tonight,” the Leader of the WBC noted.
Despite the high sporting tension, the exchange of words was extremely gentlemanly. Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada (45-4, 28 KOs), who seeks to make history by attempting to conquer his third weight division, appeared focused: “I respect Tenshin and what he represents for Japan very much, but I come with the experience and the preparation necessary to win without leaving any doubts and to seek that third world title.”
Tenshin Nasukawa (7-1, 2 KOs), aware that he faces the most rigorous test of his career, responded with the same courtesy:
“Facing a legend is an honor, but this is my moment of redemption. I have worked on my speed and strategy to prove that I belong to the elite of world boxing.”
