“Gallo” Estrada and Nasukawa- a weight off their minds

The Mexican and the Japanese fighters will meet in an eliminator bout for a shot at the WBC bantamweight title.

Juan Francisco Estrada weighed in at 117.5 pounds.

Tenshin Nasukawa weighed in at 118 pounds.

Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada

The Mexican made his professional debut in 2008. After five years of strong performances and winning over fans with his brilliant boxing style, he earned his first major opportunity.

In 2013, he became WBC flyweight world champion. “Gallo” Estrada defended his title six times before moving up in weight in search of new challenges.

In April 2019, he faced then WBC super flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. After 12 rounds of action, the judges awarded victory to the Mexican.

With that win, Estrada became a world champion in two different divisions.

Tenshin Nasukawa

The Japanese fighter made his professional boxing debut in 2023, following a highly successful kickboxing career in which he remained undefeated and became one of the biggest stars in the sport in his country.

In his early boxing bouts, he showed rapid adaptation, standing out for his outstanding speed, precision, and defensive skills that had already made him shine in the ring.

As part of his development, Nasukawa has faced experienced opponents, proving that his transition is not only media-driven, but also competitive.

Last year, he faced Takuma Inoue for the vacant WBC bantamweight title.
