Galal Yafai will face Mexican Francisco “Chihuas” Rodriguez Jr. in a bout in which his WBC Interim flyweight interim title will be at stake.
The fight will take place on Saturday, June 21, at the same arena where Yafai won his title, the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
In November last year, Yafai faced Sunny Edwards for the then-vacant 112-pound interim title. He won the fight by knocking out Edwards in the sixth round.
The experienced Mexican is looking to become a WBC-endorsed champion for the second time. In 2019, he was crowned WBC super flyweight champion.
Galal Yafai has an undefeated record of 9 wins, 7 of them by KO.
Francisco “Chihuas” Rodriguez Jr. has a record of 39-6-1 with 27 KOs.
