During the virtual press conference ahead of the December 6 card at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, the matchup between Stephen Fulton Jr. (current WBC Featherweight World Champion) and O’Shaquie Foster (current WBC Super Featherweight World Champion) stole the spotlight as one of the event’s main attractions.
Fulton was direct in his mindset:
“I don’t have an answer for what Foster says. On December 6, I’ll become a three-division world champion and go home with another belt.”
He added:
“I’m coming to fight — like always. Whatever happens, I’ll be ready.”
Regarding Foster’s comments, Fulton noted:
“All the trash talk doesn’t give me extra motivation. This is normal. I’m done with that. I’m ready to train and become a three-division world champion.”
He also mentioned that he worked to make the fight happen this year and that having more time to prepare could give him an edge — “but we’ll see.”
For his part, Foster declared:
“I’m glad this fight is finally happening. It was supposed to happen a couple of times already. We’re fighting now, so there’s tension — that’s all. Nothing personal, but Fulton is trying to take something that belongs to me.”
He continued:
“When it was postponed last time, I was upset because we were so close. But it gave me more time to prepare. I never have weight issues, so that didn’t affect me. I’m more prepared mentally and physically now.”
Finally, Foster was blunt:
“I know he made a mistake accepting this fight. I’m going in there to dominate and show the world why he doesn’t belong in the ring with me.”
