Franklin Manzanilla: “With the triumph I will give joy to the Venezuelan people”
World Boxing Council silver champion, Franklin Manzanilla, is very motivated because he will have the opportunity to contest for the absolute super bantamweight crown, held by Mexican Rey Vargas.
Manzanilla comes from scoring an important victory last May, knocking out Mexican Julio Ceja at home, becoming the WBC super bantamweight Silver champion.
“It’s almost a dream come true, but the most important part is missing,” said Manzanilla, thinking on his February 9 clash against Mexican Vargas at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.
Franklin, who had an outstanding career as an amateur alongside his brother and now coach Hector Manzanilla; said ready to face Vargas; “The fight for the title is the night I’ve dreamed of all my life, I won that opportunity after winning the WBC Silver Championship in Mexico and now I have to make a little happy to the Venezuelan people who live very difficult moments”, he pointed
“I am a fighter who does not base all of his strategy on the punch, although I am a knockout artist I already have a planned strategy if plan A does not work and with plan B; nothing can go wrong, we saw videos of Vargas and we know how to beat him, “he said.
With 17 of his 18 victories by way of the knockout, Franklin Manzanilla is a complicated rival for the Mexican world champion, who will make his fifth world title fight outside his country.
