Former Nicaraguan world champion Cristofer Rosales will fight hard hitting Mexican contender Julio César Martínez, for the vacant title flyweight WBC in one of the main clashes on the Jacobs-Chavez Jr. billboard, this Friday at the Talking Stick Resort Arena from Phoenix, Arizona.
The fight is organized by Matchroom Boxing and will be televised by DAZN and ESPN.
Recall that almost a year ago, Rosales lost this same title by decision to Charlie Edwards and this will be his debut in the United States. He`s currently training in Miami, Florida, guided by his manager William Ramirez and coach Wilmer Hernández, who has been on the corner of Román “Chocolatito” González. This is a great redemption opportunity for Rosales who aims to again become world champion.
Martinez is a significantly dangerous opponent for Rosales. He has a 14-1 record, with 11 knockouts and will have his second fight after a No Contest against Edwards. In that fight, the Mexican knocked down the Brit in the third round, but once on the canvas he was punched once again. So the knockout was amended.
Both boxers made weight and we have a fight!
Julio César Martínez 112 lbs
Cristofer Rosales 111.3 lbs
