On February 1st of this year, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and Angel “Tashiro” Fierro faced off and blasted off in Las Vegas, Nevada.
After 10 absorbing and fierce rounds of intense fighting, the judges awarded the victory to Cruz.
Fans were left wanting to more. Accordingly during the press conference for the Manny Pacquiao and Mario Barrios fight, one of the most anticipated rematches was confirmed.
But the warriors held nothing back warming to their task, kindled and heated up what could be one of the best fights of the year.
Angel Cruz was the first to throw down the gauntlet:
“I figured out Isaac Cruz in our first fight, and now he’ll have to figure me out. Isaac doesn’t have the strong jaw that everyone says he has, so we’ll see what he does in this rematch.
“I came to get rid of the bitter taste that was left in my mouth after that first fight with Cruz. It will be a great rematch, and I can’t wait for it to happen.”
“Pitbull” Cruz responded and retorted:
“I’m not the least bit concerned about what Fierro says. I don’t have a strong jaw? That’s funny, I beat him anyway. We’ll see what happens on July 19.”
But Angel would not remain silent:
“I’m here because it’s clear that Cruz didn’t beat me convincingly. Let’s see what happens on July 19.
“I proved that I could hurt him in the third round of our first fight, since I hit him on the chin, even though he says it was on the back of the neck. I’m going to fight hard and I’m going to win no matter what. I’m not thinking about anything else.”
Finally, Cruz closed by declaring:
“It’s not worth responding to Angel right now. I’ll respond with my fists when the bell rings.
“I’m going to win, period. Get ready, because I’ll get another victory against another talker outside the ring. I talk inside the ring.”
