Fiftieth Rumble 

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary “Rumble in the Jungle” fight card, the WBC and the Takam Foundation created a commemorative belt.

The belt features various elements symbolizing African culture and was contested in the second fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, which was won by the Ukrainian.

The World Boxing Council has designated 2025 as the Year of Africa. The aim is to commemorate the history, achievements, magnificence, and splendor of African boxing.

The “Ushujaa The World of Africa” belt was unveiled. Ushujaa means courage.

Anyone can compete for this belt, regardless of nationality. The only condition is that it must always be defended in Africa to promote the growth of the sport on that continent.

Carlos Takam will be the WBC Ambassador for the Year of Africa. He will be responsible for bringing the message of The Mighty Continent to the world.
