
Kenshiro Teraji, known in the boxing world as Ken Shiro, is a famous Japanese boxer born on January 6, 1992, in Jōyō, Kyoto, Japan, brilliantly progressing to earn the mantle of superstardom.
The son of former boxer Hisashi Teraji, who was the OPBF Light Heavyweight Champion and Japanese National Middleweight Champion, Kenshiro followed in his father’s footsteps in boxing. During his amateur career, he compiled a record of 58 wins and 16 losses between 2007 and 2014.
Having served his pugilistic apprenticeship, Kenshiro made his professional debut in August 2014 and quickly rose to prominence in the light flyweight division. In October 2015, he won his first title by defeating Rolly Sumalpong by unanimous decision, earning the WBC Youth belt. In May 2017, he won the WBC light flyweight world title by defeating Ganigan López. He successfully defended this title eight times before losing it in September 2021 to Masamichi Yabuki. However, in March 2022, he regained the belt in an immediate rematch.
In November 2022, he unified the WBC and WBA light flyweight titles by defeating Hiroto Kyoguchi by seventh-round TKO. He subsequently made three successful defenses before moving up to flyweight.
In October 2024, he won the vacant WBC flyweight title by defeating Nicaraguan Cristofer Rosales by eleventh-round TKO. In March 2025, he unified the WBC and WBA flyweight titles by defeating Seigo Yuri Akui by twelfth-round TKO in a thrilling fight held in Tokyo. With a professional record of 26 fights, 25 wins (16 by knockout) and just one loss, Kenshiro Teraji has proven himself to be one of Japan’s most accomplished boxers. He is currently seeking new challenges in the super flyweight division.
