Graced by champions of the World Boxing Council, the Expo Box Internacional was inaugurated in Mexico City, with a godmother- former world champion Ana María Torres, who cut the ribbon.

Champions at hand were Sebastián Fundora and Gabriela Fundora, Pipino Cuevas, Irma “Torbellino” García, Ibeth “Roca” Zamora, Judith “Peligrosa” Rodríguez, María Elena Villalobos, Silvia “La Guerrerita” Torres; José Antonio “Jaguar” Aguirre, Juan “Churritos” Hernández, Gamaliel Diaz and Carlos Cuadras.

At the opening ceremony, Luis Grajales, organizer of the event, thanked the great boxing idols and the support of the WBC.

“I am very grateful for the support of the champions who came today and the World Boxing Council, which have allowed us to bring together these people who love boxing and that’s what we want to do and help more people fall in love with this sport.”

Through a recorded video, Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the WBC, congratulated those present, while recalling that boxing is the sport that has brought the most glory to Mexico. He also invited everyone  to enjoy this event, while thanking them for promoting boxing.
