Evander Holyfield confirms attendance at WBC Annual Convention in Tashkent, Uzbekistan
The most important boxing event of the year, the 2023 World Boxing Council annual Convention will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 12-17 November and we`re thrilled to announce the the great Evander Holyfield will be one of our Special Guests.
Born on October 19, 1962, Evander Holyfield won the bronze medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, before turning professional on November 15, 1984, when he defeated Lionel Byarm by unanimous decision.
In 1988 he became WBC cruiserweight champion, with a victory over Puerto Rican Carlos De León. He then managed to win the WBC heavyweight crown, defeating James “Buster” Douglas. However, in 1992 he lost to Riddick Bowe, whom he defeated the following year. In 1994 he lost to Michael Moorer. Sometime later he defeated Mike Tyson twice.
The organizers and people of Uzbekistan want to welcome the entire WBC family and show the world that it is a great and hospitable country that will host the most important boxing event.
