Esneidy Rodriguez Conquers Green and Gold Dream

During a very special “Coffee Tuesday” held at Sports and Chips, the new silver champion in the atom division, Esneidy Rodriguez, received her precious belt from the hands of the WBC President.

The Veracruz boxer won this belt by defeating the champion Sana Hazuki last Saturday in Veracruz.

Already with the belt around her, Esneidy said that this moment is something she had always dreamed of and that today is only the beginning of a Green and Gold career, because if there is one thing she wants, it is to be able to become an absolute champion.

Regarding her upcoming plans, Esneidy explains that she is ready to face any rival and that if the WBC decides to order a direct rematch with Hazuki due to the controversy of the fifth round, where the timekeeper stopped the round early, the champion said that she can put on the gloves with her again without any problem.

She clarified that even when she felt the power from her rival she did not stop throwing punches, on the contrary she went forward and that she did not even know what was happening when the round ended.

“It was a great fight, I prepared to win and that is what I did, I put on the gloves and went up to box, I am happy and extremely satisfied with my performance and I know that I can win again” – she commented.

Her manager Gustavo Atilano was clear in saying that the port of Veracruz will have an absolute champion very soon, but first they want to make some defenses of this Silver title.

Regarding the skills of his boxer, Gustavo said that Esneidy is a boxer with  power, but especially she is a girl who knows how to listen and learn, not to mention her discipline and dedication and that it was these skills that gave her the victory.

For the President of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán, the Silver champion is an example of perseverance and an example that dreams come true as long as you work with discipline and passion.

He added the great effort of the promoter because he recognized that putting on a fight of this level, bringing the Japanese to Mexico was not something simple.

Regarding the controversy of time, the top leader said that a review has already begun with the corresponding committee, but he made it clear that there will be an indirect rematch, this means that Esneidy can make a voluntary defense and later a rematch in a neutral country.

Esneidy received a final surprise: congratulations from the great champion Saúl Álvarez, who joined a video call to talk to the specialized press about his upcoming match against Puerto Rican Berlanga.
