
Ernesto Salcedo and Luis “Chapulín” Rosales confirmed themselves as superb prospects, winningimportant victories Saturday night.
The first one with a resounding knockout in just two rounds, in the “National Promises” card presented on Saturday night by Chiquita González Boxing and PHILLIPS – ASSA ABLOY, the best pound-for-pound brand.
The event behind closed doors, complying with all health protocols, consisted of 6 fights and was broadcast by TVC Deportes, in addition to be aso broadcasted though Chiquita González Boxing’s Facebook page.
Ernesto Salcedo didn`t disappoint in the main event of the night and consolidated himself as a firm national prospect, after knocking out Manuel Martínez at 2:26 minutes of the second round, in a Super Bantamweight bout.
Although there were a few moments of prudent study, Salcedo then made it abundantly clear that he would seek to end the fight, He dominated “Acapulco” Martínez (10-3-1), especially in the second round, when he drove him against the ropes, connected with a hard combination that send him to the canvas.
With this result, Salcedo consolidated himself as an important talent of “Chiquita Boxing”, in addition to improving his undefeated record to 13-0, declaring he is ready for a new fight to climb higher on the ladder.
In the co-main event in the bantamweight division, Luis “Chapulín” Rosales (10-5-3), prevailed by majority technical decision (59-56, 57-57 and 59-55) over José Rojas Alba (5-6-1).
“Chapulín” Rosales was landing most effectively, but he suffered a cut on his right eyebrow in the fourth round after an accidental headbutt, which needed medical examination in that round and in the seventh after when it was unsafe to continue. The fight was defined by the cards and Luis was declared the winner.
Meanwhile, in an extraordinary fight, Alberto “Alacrán” Ruiz (10-3) ended the undefeated record of Eduardo Martínez (7-1), who he defeated via majority decision.
