
In Caracas, one of the most interesting boxing Chapters in recent times took place.
Erika Bolívar from the capital city, at 21 years of age, won the national belt in the Lt. flyweight division.
Bolívar (5-1-1 / 3 Ko) obtained a disputed victory by way of unanimous decision in a fairly even duel that at times leaned towards her rival Luisa Bello.
However, the effective and powerful combinations were the determining factor for Erika to win on the judges’ cards.
Likewise, the first card organized by the promoter Global Boxing, made fans in the country dream that Venezuelan boxing could return to the golden era that they once had. In the same way Roberto Andueza organizer of the evening commented exclusively.
“I am happy with what I have seen today, this is a small sample of what is to come in 2023. Our motivation is to show that boxing in Venezuela is more fresh than ever and that with investment and effort we will be able to support this sport.”
The current national bantamweight champion Niorkis Carreño (24-3 / 19KO) defeated the experienced Keren Batez via technical knockout in the fourth round.
To close the boxing night, the Main event was Ender Luces, who improved his undefeated record (18-0 / 15K0).
The fighter from Anzoátegui state, demonstrated his power once again, managing to knock down his rival Ronald González twice in the first round of the fight.
After the fights, the National Professional Boxing Commissioner, Lcdo Elvis Sánchez expressed his gratitude for the support that boxing has received in recent years and assured that they will continue working to monitor, check and balance the talent that most certainly exists in Venezuela
