Four-times world champion and current director of sports in Baja California, Mexico, Erik Morales, said that we must see education and sports as one, since both are vital tools for healthy development.
During the traditional “Martes de Cafe” conference, Erik introduced Emmy Gonzalez, a young gold medalist in the 2022 junior world championships in the weightlifting category, who yearns to represent Mexico in the Olympic Games.
Erik said talented and promising youngsters are here, waiting to receive support and his job is to help them achieve their goals.
Erik also introduced and presented the national amateur boxing championship “Don José Suliamán” which will take place from August 4 to 6 in Tijuana Baja California. He explained that the qualifying rounds will take place on August 4 and 5 at the High Performance Center and the finals on Sunday the 6th at Avenida Revolucion.
Erik commented that the tournament had a great turnout, since it extended to the states of Baja California, Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Gunaujato, Durango, Morelos, Sinaloa, Chiapas and Ecuador as the guest country.
