Erickson Lubin: “This is where I find my glory”
Erickson Lubin is gearing up for the most important fight of his entire career.
On November 8, he will face the WBC interim 154-pound champion, Vergil Ortiz Jr., at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, in a bout that will be broadcast on DAZN and promises to shake up the super welterweight division.
The American fighter explained why he chose Ortiz instead of facing Bakhram Murtazaliev:
“We felt this was the best option… I was fully focused on this fight. I didn’t want to miss the chance to fight for a world title, but the fight with Vergil was there for me and, honestly, it’s bigger for me. Vergil has strong promotion, he’s the WBC interim champion, and he has DAZN backing him,” Lubin said.
The southpaw believes this is the perfect stage to make his mark. “It’s going to be a high-paced, high-level fight that people will talk about for a long time. I’m in this for fights like this, to be a legend, and Vergil is going to bring out the best in me,” he stated.
“For me, going to his backyard, on a different platform, and coming out victorious… this is where I find my glory,” he concluded.
