Don Carlos Slim Helu, who is an avid boxing fan, asked Don José Sulaimán to specially design a program of genius, in a quest to find a fighter capable of shouldering the ermine mantle of the Great Julio Cesar Chavez.
From there and from then on, the Ring Telmex-Telcel program was born, with lifelong pensions and social security for 27 former champions; and the important support for the José Sulaimán Champions Fund independently administered by the Nevada Community Foundation.
.

The Ring Telmex-Telcel Program emerged from a dream to become tangible reality on June 22, 2008 and 16 years later it has magnificently proved its worth.

It began as an innovative and revolutionary project for boxing, was taken to its highest level and is now a world reference. Arturo Elias Ayub is the one who leads the program and the captain in charge of daily activities is Dr. Rogelio Herrera.
The results of this project have been outstandingly vital for Mexico to continue as a boxing dynamo, hub, epicenter and powerhouse. It is established and proven as the pioneering example to follow for other parts of the world, because the results are there for all to see.
