The WBC Women’s Summit, the event that brought together the greatest pioneers of women’s boxing, promoters, ring officials, journalists, and leaders in the sport, came to a close with an memorable ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The day was marked by moments of reflection, highlighting the strength and legacy of women in boxing.
Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the World Boxing Council, thanked everyone in attendance not only for being present but also for the interest, enthusiasm, and tremendous participation they showed at every moment.
He offered a profound reflection on the importance of living in the present, of being active in everyday life and enjoying those who are by our side, reminding us that life is fleeting and that every moment should be lived with fullness and gratitude.
Before concluding his speech, a video tribute to Jesszilla was shown. Despite her young age, she lived a life of intense love for boxing, bravely fighting a long battle with cancer, only for her life to be taken away by the disease. Her story touched the hearts of everyone present, who couldn’t help but be deeply moved by her courage and love for the sport.
The WBC President also acknowledged the constant struggle of women in boxing and other fields, reaffirming his commitment to continue supporting gender equality in sports. He reinforced the message reiterated throughout the event by the boxers and panelists: to believe in themselves, fight for their dreams, and let their light shine brightly.
With this moving event, the Women’s Summit came to a close, leaving an indelible mark on each of the attendees, who pledged to continue promoting gender equality in boxing and in all areas of sport.
