Dylan Capetillo Triumphs in Pro Debut and Joins “Martes de Café”
Martes de Café experienced an emotional moment when Mexican-American prospect Dylan Capetillo joined via Zoom following his successful professional debut last weekend.
With great enthusiasm, Capetillo shared his impressions with the media: “I am very happy and extremely grateful to the WBC for the great support they have given me since my amateur career. I am proud to be part of the ‘Green and Gold’ family and to have debuted with a promoter as important as Oscar De La Hoya.”
It is important to emphasize that Capetillo was a champion of the WBC Green Belt Challenge, a tournament from which great talents have emerged in different areas of the United States.
The three-time WBC amateur champion, Dylan “La Amenaza” (The Threat) Capetillo, debuted like the greats at 17 years old, taking his first victory in the very first round, snatching the undefeated record of Jesús Ríos—who arrived with a record of one win—in a card held in Las Vegas, Nevada. After this overwhelming start, “La Amenaza” already has a scheduled date for his return: it will be next May 2nd, as part of the card headlined by the duel between David Benavidez and Ramírez in the city of Las Vegas.
