David Benavidez wins WBC eliminator

Two-time super middleweight world champion, David ‘Red Flag’ Benavidez, defeated American “Reckless” Ronald Ellis by technical knockout in the eleventh round in a World Boxing Council elimination match this Saturday at the “Mohegan Sun Arena” in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The fight was tough for Benavidez (24-0, 21 KOs), who had to work hard against a very strong and grimly determined Ronald Ellis (18-2-2, 12 KOs).

David kept focused and used his height and reach advantages to maintain the pressure, which slowly but surely told. By round 11, the Referee stopped the fight determining that Ellis had already received more than enough punishment.
