Former unified and undefeated bantamweight champion Junto Nakatani (31-0, 24 KOs), is meticulously preparing for his debut in the super bantamweight division (122 lbs) in December 2025.
After unifying two bantamweight titles by stopping Ryosuke Nishida in the sixth round on June 8, 2025, in Tokyo, Nakatani announced his plan to move up to the next division.
Nakatani will share the card with fellow countryman Naoya Inoue on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His opponent will be Mexican fighter Sebastian “Logan” Hernandez.
This move marks a new chapter in Nakatani’s career, as he seeks to capture a fourth division after previously holding titles in flyweight, super flyweight, and bantamweight.
The aim, is a cobblestone-tarmac showdown, somewhere down the road, with undisputed super bantamweight supremo Naoya Inoue. Their way, or the highway! And in this way, it will be the most illuminating all Japanese match up in fifty years.
